Tell us about your home?
My home is in the heart of Glasgow city centre, my flat is in an Italian style palazzo with flats, offices, cafes and retail grouped in a central courtyard! I’ve always wanted to live here since I was a young girl, I love the chartered, glamorous look of the building... it’s my dream location.

Why is your home so important to you?
My home is my happy place... it’s a place where I relax and unwind, it’s where I entertain and throw dinners, it’s where I can work in complete silence and it’s a place, I spend time with the people I love.

Where do you get interiors inspo from?
I tend to design my spaces from my dream furniture. I curate my dream pieces and then design the room around them. I love shopping for antique furniture and upholstering to make them modern, one off pieces. There is so many amazing vintage shops in Glasgow and I’m always on the hunt for new pieces I have roman statues all around my home and love collecting them and really celebrating the Italian feel of the home.

Minimalist or maximalist when it comes to home decor?
A bit of both. I like the exterior features to be minimal and plain in colour and then add some creative-ness and glamour with my furniture and soft furnishings

What was your vision when you started to design your lounge?
I wanted to keep original features with the cornice design, we decided to add more panelling also and make this a real feature, then we painted them black to make it pop against the white. The double height ceiling makes my heart sing and really wanted to make that a feature with the black trim.

Why did you chose Zone at Home?
I’ve been recommended by friends and loved the options available: I knew I wanted black, but I fell in love with the subtle croc design which added the stylish edge I had envisioned. I didn’t realise how much an impact the blinds would make until they got fitted and I’m literally obsessed with them, as soon as I get home at night, I roll them down and light the candles and it’s the cosiest vibe ever.

How did you decide on your colour palette?
I wanted to keep the original Italian centre colours which is black and white it also means I can change my style in the lounge seasonally. I love pops of yellow in the summer for a nice fresh and light vibe then add my red roses and gold accent in the winter for a more luxe feel

What’s been the biggest change you have made to your home?
We have changed the look of the whole flat from top to bottom, it’s been a very long process, but I wanted to do it slowly and properly making sure I fell in love with each room.

What advice would you give to anyone undertaking a home renovation?
Hire a project manager to orchestrate the work otherwise you will lose your mind! Tradesmen can run behind and things go wrong and it can have a snowball effect on everyone else booked in. There is a process in what needs done first down to plumbing and electrical and its best left to the experts

Are you finished all decoration now or do you have more projects?
Our next project is the bathroom, we are keeping the black and white theme and want this time to re-verse the feel of the space and have it dark and moody with white accents compared to the lounge which is bright white and airy with dark pops of definition

Who is your celebrity home style crush?

I love the models in their stylish apartments in NYC .... Elsa Hosk and Gigi Hadid. I love city living and
those apartments in Manhattan are on the goals list...exposed brick walls, dreamy, concept furniture
and neon signs .... OH MY!
